Note that in Knockout and Tournament mode, you will go straight from the post-race screen (shown below) to here.

Racing
The race screen begins with a fly-by tour of the course you are about to race in, press any key to skip to the beginning of the race. Once the light turns green, the race begins, and timing for your boat starts as soon as you cross the start/finish line.
- LAP NUMBER: Shows which lap you are on (1st number) and how many laps are in the race (2nd number)
- LAP TIME: Shows the current lap time (in milliseconds)
- MINIMAP: Shows where you are in relation to the other racers and provides an overview of the course.
- MESSAGE AREA: It is here the game will alert you to events in the race, such as a lap record, when your opponents complete a lap etc.
You must guide your boat through a series of checkpoints every lap in consecutive order. Checkpoints are seen on the course defined by red buoys. Drive your boat through the buoys to arrive at a checkpoint. A handy white pointer that remains with your boat points in the direction of the next checkpoint.
You will encounter various obstacles and boosters throughout each course. Your boat will be slowed and difficult to control when colliding with things like rocks and logs, while speed boosts (blue flashing arrows) provide your boat a handy burst of speed. There are also strategically placed jumps throughout, many of which must be succesfully completed in order to complete the course.

The Courses |
|
1. Country Canal
Local farmers have gotten quite upset with all the noise those "dat-ratted racin' boats" have been making. Your incredible, super strength hull will protect your safety, but bullets will slow you down...
|
|
2. Land's End
This difficult course will test your mettle as you're shot at high speed towards a waterfall which you must avoid last-minute. Fail, and it's up-stream to try again!
|
|
3. Locked Out
An active shipping lane and lock may not be the most condusive place for a race, but, well, that's just the way it is... I think it goes without saying to avoid hitting the passing ships?
|
|
4. Log Jam
Located in between logging camps and a lumber mill, you will need to dodge logs that have been floated towards the mill in this course.
|
|
5. Fast Lane
This course is all about speed and hitting those speed boosts!
|
|
6. The Weave (New!)
This tricky course has tight canals, lots of turns, speed boost, jumps and of course multiple routes...
|
|
7. Drift (New!)
A challenging course with a few daring overland jumps...
|
|
8. Figure Eight (New!)
A slightly modified figure eight with a straight divided center section in which you must alternate sides to hit all the speed bursts.

Problems?
- Q & A on Known Issues and other Troubleshooting
- Problem: Game will not work in Windows Vista or Windows 7, an error regarding Cncs32.dll is presented
- A: The latest release of Aqua Jet (v1.1) should correct this issue
- Q: How do I turn on/off sound and music?:
- A: Press 'ctrl' + 's' to toggle sound and 'ctrl' + 'm' to toggle music
- Q: Why does the game restart when I reset the lap records?:
- A: The game searches for the lap records file when it first starts, so this allows the game to automatically replace the deleted lap records
- Q: Why do these boats simply bounce over land and all the obstacles?:
- A: Boats bounce... really... they do... ish...
- Problem: Every now and then, the AI makes turn or does something outright goofy:
- A: To make the AI more fair to the imperfect humans... (actually, this is a bug)
