Synchronized
A file or folder is synchronized when its contents are identical on both sides of the file structure view. This means that the same version of the file exists in both target synchronization folders. Note: A folder may exist on both sides, but it is only perfectly synchronized if all of its files and subfolders are also identical. The folder displays with a warning icon as long its contents are unsynchronized.
Difference
Two files or folders are unsynchronized as long as they contain at least one difference. This can mean a difference in any of the following:
  • Date modified
  • File is exists in one synchronization folder but not the other

Note: There is only one exception to this. Folders with the same name that were created at different times are still considered synchronized.
